I have got the woodturning bug in a big way at the moment and am trying different things, today I cut a fork out of a bit of beech in fact the bit I had the pic of my neck knife on.

A bit of shaping with the chainsaw then on to the lathe and the pattern that was hiding inside really pleased me after a couple of hours of turning sanding and oiling this is what I ended up with it is 6.3/4 inch wide by 2.1/2 inch tall ideal for sweets Etc.

I have some spalted beech in the pile so will turn some of that tomorrow as the novelty seems to have worn off for my son so I can play with the lathe.
