I am new to fishing in respect that i have not fished since i was a kid some 30 years ago  It has all changed these days very advanced.  What happens when the Bailiff comes to you.  What are his type questions and if i was to tell him i was joe bloggs from 10 drowning street   (very drowning at the mo) would he take my word for it.

Do we have any Bailiffs on here, or are we all poachers

is the licence for twelve months or for the fishing season

the lience runs from the 31st march each year that lets you fish with 2 rods if want to use more you will have to buy another 1

if the baliff comes round to you it will be more than likely to ask to see the ticket for the place your are fishing and to make sure you have a licenice they can check by your name and address if you dont have it with you also they may ask to check the hook if the lake has a barbless only rule and they mate want to check what bait you are useing if there are bait bans on the water 99% of thge time they are nice blokes who are more than happy to help you out with hints and tips as long as you follow the lake rules there shouldnt be any problem

enjoy your fishing mate i look forward to seeing some of your pics on here

because the system is now computer backed up when you buy your licence they can tell right away if you have a licence or not, this is how it goes

Balif, name and address please

angler, joe blogs bullcrap lane

Ballif types into his hand held jobby and it come back no licence held at this adress aswel as name not registered. now not only would you be guilty of not having a licence but you are now in the process of trying to commit fraud, a hell of a lot worse than the £25 a year for a licence.

a little tip worth note. THEY HAVE NO POWERS OF ARREST AND CANNOT WITH HOLD YOUR GEAR, SO BEST PLANE OF ACTION IF PINGGED WITHOUT A LICENCE IS SAY NOTHING AND WALK AWAY, NOT TO YOUR CAR OF COURSE AND JUST SIMPLY DISAPPEAR.

My father was head bailiff for our waters (the Nene) and to honest he was always firm but fair,if you come across as a good guy then you`ll get back what you deserve but if you were to be silly then all you were going to get would be hassle none of us need. The licence enables you to fish all still waters and rivers but then you also have to pay for a day ticket, season ticket or join a syndicate so if you are a river man and you`re going to fish it more times than the season ticket costs it would make sense to purchase the book. commercial fisheries cost each time you go.
Hope i`ve been of help mate be lucky
