a law is about to come into affect that will make it illegal to sell or buy rod caught salmon or seatrout. ive had many a holiday where ive sold a bar o silver to a landlord for the price of a meal or a few beers,i cant see that this law will help the wild stcks at all as people will still take them wether for them selves or to sell on the black market, and lets face it theres more than one or two disreputable pubs and restaurants out there who dont care where the meat or fish has come from!

whats your views?????

I thought rod caught sale had been banned for years, or is that just Scotland?

i think it was just scotland andnow to extend to wales and England.
Also all liscensed net operators will have totag the fish they sell withEA gill tags with a tracable code.

I think thats fairly reasonable. Salmons getting scarce, and when people sell it rather than taking it for themselves it gets scarcer. Its not the fault of the ordinary fisherperson though, its the massive trawler companies. Imagine how much of that fish in supermarkets dosn't get sold and is wasted.

you are wrong im afraid to say ,fish farming has caused all the problems ,by using to many antibotics ,now the wild stocks are suffering because of it .
