I guess a lot are made from 8 by4 foot sheet so end up 4 feet long and two feet high. The bigger the better buddy especially if its hot, mine live in a brick stable and many people now build ferrt courts, much like bird averies.Go look on rabbiters.co.uk should be some pics on there and plenty of good advice.

I used to have mine in one of those double hutches, smaller ones are ok but if you don't work them through the summer like most they don't get much room, this year I built my own a bit bigger so I can have some more ferrets and still have plenty of room, Here's some pics. to show you the size I thought would suit about six or seven, although I still only have the two at the moment.

P.S. its not quite finished just yet

Thanks for the photos , that cage is fantastic. I haven't kept ferrets for 30 years and the Australian style cage then was about 4 ft long 2 ft wide and 18 inches high. My granddaughter wants to go ferreting like her mother so it looks as though a new cage and a couple of ferrets are on the way. Luckily I kept the nets and carry boxes.  Nets are no easy to come by here now, when I was young a lot of us had ferrets, now all my nephews play with is there internet games and themselves. No talk of getting out for a walk .

Nets aren't hard to make it takes very little practise I taught my boys to knit them in about an hour the first few meshes were a bit untidy but after a couple of rows they came good.

fun to do too it's a shame there is very little profit in handmade nets or I would let them earn pocket money making them.
