I am in the U.K and I'm building a slingshot rifle. Can anyone tell me whether or not it is legal in this country to use some kind of trigger mechanism release?

Thanks Fish, I got hold of a cheap walnut rifle stock, and I'm just playing with ideas!!!

Just keep in mind how quickly rubber looses power when you keep it extended.

I tested this in my test setup.

20 cm Thera Tube green, double (chinese method), extended to 110 cm.

Does 50 m/s with 15 mm steel balls.

Then I kept it cocked for 10 minutes.

Result: 30 m/s! Very slow.

The band does recover after a while, though.

I question the efficiency of a slingshot rifle. You have to draw and shoot as fast as at all possible. The shorter the bands are in extended condition, the more power do you have.

Hi Jörg, I can usually get a shot off in less than 15 sec but I will keep an eye on the power level!!! I have been keeping up with your thread on draw lengthes and rubber types. I don't suppose you could make me one of your sling releases?

with some kind of remote camera shutter release that would be some piece of kit and save me allot of design work!!! of all your designs that is what I covet most
