Well i did go out for a couple of hours last night, when i got down to the burn a couple of young lads were making their way back,they were quick to tell me that they had caught 9 between them, they were all nice wee brownies, Well done young un's,
I would love to say i went on and caught 10 but

after 2 hours and a right good soaking in 15 minute thunderstorm , i returned to my car with 1 wee rainbow who must of escaped from the fish farm further up stream, never mind it passed my night !! i mean what else would you do on a monday night other than put soaking wet clothes in the wash machine and dry of fishing gear, stuff wellies with newspaper

oh i nearly forgot ! i also had to clean a fish!!! ( that was a big job ! took me about 5mins and that included sharpening my knife !!!! ) never mind better luck next time.

I'm pushing my luck now!! me and the mr's are of to the caravan for the weekend ,and i'm taking my new toy telescopic £3 rod ! i'll try my luck , i reckon it wont make a lot of difference ,it's not as if i'm after big fish ,i'm only going on the wee hill burns , and we used to catch them on a hazel shank ! i get dafter

as i get older ,trying to relive my youth . i'll let you know ?

Well the weekend was downpour friday, right through until about 3 in the morning ,which swelled the burn just a bit too much,for my planned saturday morning, but i had to try before i came back today , so it was up this morning and out on the burn by 5.30 played away until 2.30 this afternoon, had loads of fun ,and a few really small brownies, nothing worth eating ,but maybe the next time ? , i did manage to cut a couple of decent chestnut shanks, i know it's the wrong time of year , (supposedley my old mentor used to say "aye the right time to cut a hazel shank is ?? When ye see it , cause if you dont someone else will and it it'll no be there the morn !"
Ah well back to work tomorrow for 4 days then 19 days holiday !!!
