A mate of mine was the British record holder with a garfish of over 3lbs,don't know if it still stands.he caught it off Guernsey I think.
I've had 30/40 in an afternoon on small livebaits, fishing off the coast in the south of France.
As Wabbiter said-lovely eating

Catching then on a fly rod is a right giggle - it's like hooking a mini-marlin, they tail walk, jump and pull like a rocket powered rat in a watermain.

Small shiny flies like a bdooly butcher - or tie some small sand eel's up with plenty of wool in them - the teeth in their 'beak' gets tangled in the wool and you can sometimes land them even if the hook hasn't penetrated.

Only fish I can think of that tastes better than fresh mackeral, if it wasn't for the colour of the bones putting people off they'd probably be on the endangered species list!
