We're pretty well stocked with crays in this area, but I am confused by theiir distribution in adjacent streams.  Near me there are 3 rivers that I know are stuffed with them, and have been for some years.  But then there are two others that I have never takena single one out of.  Any ideas why?
One of the blank ones actually runs into one of the productive ones. With the other blank one it runs into a water looked that is looked after as a nature reserve - I wondered if maybe the EA are putting that contraceptive stuff in to stop them breeding......BUT I have fished UPSTREAM and got nothing, but it eventually runs out the bottom of the lake into one of the productive stretches.  In short, given that we have water that flows in the conventional way, I JUST DON'T bdooly GET IT and it has been doing my nut in for the past five years.
Why, why and thrice, WHY?
