got talking to an old boy many moons ago at the mid somerset show,he was full of old country knowledge! one device for taking fish he explained very well,heres a drawing i made at the time,clever old boy eh?!

One prob with devices like that fish,they have no advantage whatsoever over fixed lines,they are highly visible,take longer to knock up than simply anchoring a line and casting it out,but different strokes for different blokes,I hope we get the chance to fish that stream in the summer you told me about,we will get SOME trout I have a 50 yard tiny-meshed trammel net specifically for trout and one or two other methods

Here you are fish old bean,reef-nets for netting off parts of a reef,they have tiny meshes so NOTHING edible gets through them,my 50 yarder trammels cost less than a tenner each and are IDEALLY suited for chalk-stream trout if it were legal you can see it for sale hanging outside the local village store........

i've watched them guys throw them , work of art,once had a go , not that easy getting it to land just right

No wabbs,thats not a cast-net mate,thats a gill,I have a cast-net here,I will look through my pics tommorrow,i have some of the guy who taught me how to throw one fishing for snow trout in the Himalayas.
