well if your staying on the caravan park by parkwood ide just try the brook there. however the resivoir looks promising for all sorts of stuff,i believe theres a waterfall in the woods to the west of the resevoir in the forest, usually worth a dabble as theres good oxygenation.of course the best way to find the best trout fishing is to find the 'no fishing' or 'private fishing' signes!
dont forget yer camera!

just back ,will put some piccies up later. I can say fishing the lake wasŁ4.50/day, tickets available at the pheasant inn ( which i took rabbit and ham terrine starter, guinea fowl for main and ice cream dessert with lovely local ale to help it down- best part of the day!) .your chances of catching are slim due to dog walkers letting their dogs in right by you and kids that want to throw stones right next to you. God knows why on such a massive lake ,they want to come and see what you are doing ,then f**k it up for you!
Far West by the brigde is where the river ouze comes into the lake, it had been raining hard for a few days before we got there so water levels were high, river was fast. I followed it for a couple of miles handlining as i went, i saw kingfishers feeding and plenty of minnows 4-5 inches long jumping for flies on the surface, usually upstream of overhanging trees rather than the 'still' side.
I caught as many as the men in waders up to their chests with expensive looking rigs, which is to say nothing.I did see a few holes in the banks, was wondering if it would be ok to stick a few cray nets in but got told quite firmly that i had spent enough time getting muddy and would i get showered and spend some better quality time back at the hotel, cant argue with that can I.
