EXCELLENT STUFF  My ambition has always been to take a bear with a bow,not a brown(wayyy too expensive)but your common or garden black,I was going to do it two years ago,wifes cousin lives in Hicksville(sandstone,but its in the middle of nowhere so......Hicksville)Minnesota,her husband Don said he would sort my non-resident tags out and arrange something,winter came but instead of going over wifey decided the money would be better spent on a new kitchen and christmas in the sun at her moms,of course I wear the trousers in this house so I packed my shades and shorts 
I have Gary Bogner on disc being charged by a HUGE grizzly  Fair play to him,its 15 feet away,coming in at full pelt and he is still at full-draw.

Not sure about this one.
The bear was moving away and did not seem to be posing a threat to anyone. I assume this is an example of trophy hunting rather than for food or vermin control. I feel uneasy about it. The shot was dead on target, so respect to the archer. I'm not sure I'd kill a bear to prove how good a shot I am though. |

they eat them over there and the meat makes good money by all accounts! hides make grat rugs,bones sell teeth and claws sell! and i think the fat is renderd for somik but i cant remember what! |

i watched the video and if you turn up the volume at the instant that he releases the arrow you can hear a what sounds like a gunshot in the back ground.
i don't buy the story of him killing that bear with a head shot from an arrow. i've seen griz skulls and they are super thick and hard. i have a good friend who lives in grizzly country and has taken several over the years and doesn't buy the video either. in the case of my friend he is not a trophy hunter, but a meat hunter. he bones the griz meat out then runs it through a grinder and making bear sausage. he also uses the leg bones for knife handles and utilizes the hide as well. he keeps the claws and skulls too. take care, wildman |

I Dont know about the gunshot noise, is it not the noise off the arrow being released, if you watch it at the end in slow mo, you can see and the hear the exact moment the arrow leaves and hits the bear, itf it was a gunshot the chap pulling the trigger would have to be spot on to coincide with the archer, do you not think if it was a gunshot, even at a distance back it would have been a lot louder, you def have a point though, you could mistrude the noise as a poss shot, but i dont think it sounds like a shot, but interesting all the same wildman |

Doesnt sound like the ***** of a rifle,more like limb vibration from an undampened bow....PLUS......watch the bear closely,you actually see the shaft appear in the bears head a millisecond before it drops,what context is the hunt in MF?Does the guy set out to head shoot a Grizzly?

the guy shooting the bear is called tim wells its the last part of a film called lethal flight its one of my faves SCI did a check on the bear to ensure it was a bowkill before accepting it for there books the guide gave a sworn statement to that effect  the part where the are bowfishing for alligator gar is brill what a friggingSIZE

just like to say well done to tim everybody always wonts to life there dream and he's done it well done bud would of loved to be in his shoes that day but cant take anythink from tim clean kill the way it should always be done all the best sh p.s do you no were i can get hold of some bow hunting dvds all the best sh |

just watched the dvd that tim takes the bear with his compound bow and there is no way that bear was shot with a rifle 100% with his bow brill shot just to the side of its left eye well done tim credit to you and well done in getting your dream shot you can see the care he gave to the shot and when the arrow hit the bear he was over the moon all the best sh p.s the dvd i watched it on was called lethal flights |
