In the forum "what do you make" I was asked for some pics of catches on my homemade lures ,........well , here are a few . Not the biggest fish , but I am glad , that they sometimes strike my homemades .
Any questions about luremaking will be gladly answered .

Thanks a lot , folks , ........these pics are between one and two years old , fishing has turned quite slow these days , but I am hoping for the autumn season !
Only caught one smaller zander(pike perch) in the "Elbe" river in Hamburg last weekend , .....it scratched 60 cm , I suppose ,.... put it back to grow instantly .

is that smoked eel?? yummmmmmmmmmmmm!

@ fish , @ BigCharl
It is eel , some were even too long to fit into the smoking bin.........good old days gone by ,..... since a few years we don't catch a lot anymore , and since my wife's got a different job , we can't go eel-fishing at night frequently anymore , anyway !
Used to do this smoking once in a year , most likely early autumn , .....we'd freeze all of the fish through the summer until it would be worth it to heat up the bin .
Always good times for the family ,...... hardly could eat 20 to 30 pounds of smoked fish on my own !

Lovely pics
Smoking your catch looks good but I have to poach all mine as I begrudge the fishing license costs.

smoked eel, one of my favourite fish.. ....mack

@ wabbiter
Sadly eel are on decline since about 10 years ago , we blame it on commercial fishing on their larvas returning to Europe with the Gulf Stream ,...... off the shores of Spain and France they're looting them , so not that many don't have a chance anymore moving into our river systems .
Asian "gourmets" pay big money for these , European fisheries can hardly compete with it to stock local waters , and it never worked out to breed eel in hatcheries since .
Second there is an alien parasite around now , scientists never found out , whether it affects the mature fish moving out of Europe to reach their spawning grounds east of the Caribean at all .
