desert Coyote

hey everybody a young friend of mine called in his first coyote this weekend and i thought you might like to see it.
he called him in on his first set took about 15 minutes.  he's  trying to tan the hide as we speak. I gave him a crash course on how to tan, so I'm a little nervous as to how its gonna come out.

fish

superb mate would make a fine davey crocket hat!

I think any type of garment is going to be a bit ambitious for his first time tanning,  i told him that if he manages to make it not stink and retains most of the hair then i would consider it a success
I also told him how to boil the skull, i hope he does that.  that would make a really nice trophy, its a good sized coyote.

dont no one over your way run them with dogs statik i no for a fact if i was over there i have the old pitbull* snapping at there rectum all the best sh
statikpunk

actually no...I have never seen anyone hunt an animal with a dog (as the killer) but as far as i know there is no rules against it for varmints like coyotes
that seems to be just a European thing
fish

statik,

there's some guys right here in the states who run coyotes with dogs. here's one i owned  years ago. greyhound x deerhound x pit bull her and her litter mate brother could take coyote single-handed.

like that dog cracking looking powerhouse wonder what its like to run coyotes to our foxes would of thought the old coyote will give more of a fight back than a fox but you never no when the old bully/grey slams into the side and slams it to the ground still would think they would do the same damage as when there on fox by breaking there backs/necks by slamming them to the floor all the best

sh,
over here coyotes kill foxes and eat them. the coyote is one tough customer and it takes a serious dog to catch and kill one single handed.

yah i hunt them by calling them in...they are one of my favorite critters to hunt...as a matter of fact i just bought a new call this weekend!
my problem with hunting yotes with dogs, is that the whole time I would be thinking "why does the dog get to have all the fun??"  plus my dog is scared of my cat   so that plan is right out for me.
Yeeharr

There's a lot of deerhound and staghound blood in coyote dogs, they are bigger dogs than bull greyhounds. A coyote is a small wolf NOT a big fox!
statikpunk

hey wildman I just noticed this but....why on earth did you bring one of those things indoors ?!?   they stink!  I have skinned a couple for the hides and man they are one rancid smelling critter, you must have an awfully understanding wife
