Dip NetHere is the dip net I made for a winters project. It is not attached to the frame. I am sending it by mail to central Pennsylvania where the historical society will attach it.
The net is made from 38 pound test linen thread. 30 meshes on the bottom, 110 meshes on top. The bottom 2 rows and top 3 have double twine.
The frame is 5' x 2'9" attached to a 6' long handle, The break in the frame was repaired as I was working on the net.

You must increase the number of meshes or the net would turn into a narrow tube. As you said make double loops so that in the next row you have an extra loop to tie into. I increased by 10 loops every 5th row and that worked out well.
I don't know of any tutorials on making a landing net. I have made replacement nets. There were 28 loops in the net I was replacing. I cast on 28 meshes on a head rope and worked tubular

When I reached the bottom, I forget how deep I used the second methos shown here

You could use one of the other methods shown or tie onto a metal ring. Good luck. Tony
