Dreaming of my own piece of englandCame across this website a while ago.Its allways been my dream to own my own woodland preferably with a pond or river/stream for fishing and big enough to do a bit of hunting in.I can imagine camping out in my own little wood with only the sound of the local wildlife for company. It will be a while before i have the money but hopefully one day it will happen

Forgot to mention no one can have blacktip rabbit wood in shropshire as thats the one i want so i can pitch my tent by the river. Can just imagine sitting by the river on a summers evening with my rod in my hand (no double entendres please) and a cold glass of cider in the other with the kingfishers diving for minnows while the sun sinks over the tree tops.

The only place abroad i've ever fancied is ireland.I've attached the property that i would buy when i win the lottery.A whole village (derelict) and acres of land for a million quid.Would make a cracking hunting/fishing based holiday village

All those places are pretty cheap, the highlands not so much, but you can still pick up a 100k acres for a couple of million if you look.

I think perhaps your definition of CHEAP and mine are widely differing FISHY

Well yeah, a couple of million is alot of money obviously, but per acre it is a hell of a lot less than anywhere down south.

!In parts of the American South land is very affordable as well. I purchased 20 acres of rural ex-farmland comprising of about 1/2 mature oak/hickory mix and 1/2 open pasture with a three acre stocked bass lake with a house and huge shop building for $115K two years back. Land is even cheaper now.....much of it going for less than $1,000 an acre where I live. Plus, we can have guns (for now at least) and hunting with a catty is almost unheard of and no one gets their panties in a wad about it!
