sadly this was a by-catch of a carping session!swollowed a crust with hook,too badly injured to return to the water,still in a caserole it wasnt too bad! :wink:

I got really growled at for suggesting a common carp looked good enough to eat. Is taking a mallard not considered poor sport by the course fishing fraternity?

poor sport? well in some social circles ! to be honest most country folk of past and present wouldnt turn down the chance of a free meal for the family,i like to think i was meant to catch it and in some way the big man in the sky was givin me it as a prezy! :wink:

I think you and I shae the same pratical streak and love of food.
My beatiful wife brings home road kill and just last week learned to skin a blacktip rabbit.
