We fly in 16 days time,getting a mercury vapour lamp for 40 quid so the kids can attract moths and bugs to a white sheet behind the house,we usually get a variety of flying insects attracted to the flouro tubes on the porch mainly moths,beetles,mantids etc,anyone ever tried this sort of thing?

i used to have a light box to catch moths used to put carboard egg trays in the bottom and in the morning id sort them out its amazing how many moth spiecies there are in england. try and get some pics TW if you catch any i bet you get some great things over there in a moth trap,

Seen moths over there with a 12 inch wingspan,swarms of japanese collectors visit the islands as its incredible the amount of butterflies they can collect in a trip,but my kids are interested in beetles and praying mantids really,should be fun though,camping out halfway up a volcano with a big white sheet stretched between the trees
