Favorite WoodWith all the different wood types I've carved over the years, I always come back to Maple. Here's a group of a dozen Curly Maple Universal Ergo frames. Maple ,especially figured stuff, is really great wood. It's tough, hard and finishes great! Flatband

ive not worked curly maple,those do look very good!
i like working with walnut and ebony.

Oh yeah Fish,Walnut is excellent! Hell,they're all good in some way. Even Pine ,which is a little soft or Cedar too. You get the extra added advantage of a great smell while you work with those!  Flatband

ive been given some eucalyptus wood,that stuff is heavenly in smell!
