First of many....PROGRESS REPORTBelow is my first attempt at a knife handle, its still work in progress, but should look well when completed. Handle is Buffalo horn with white spacers. The blade is known as a "Black Foot". 440c stainless. 10" over all length. Blade 4 1/2". Handle 3 7/8". 5/32" Thick. I hope to do some sort off scrim on the handle, nothing fancy as it to will be a first attempt, but we will see if ive got the nerve.
A bit more to do, some more sanding and a hole for a lanyard, then a bit off a polish.

reLovely and beautiful. I see this is gona be a nice piece. I'm glad you started to do this knife
I f you want one oppinion from me in the making of this knife it would be to take off some more materia before the bolster you have. Maybe you already thought about it. Its very nice when the scales go smoothly to the bolster in same hights. Sorryy my english i hope you understand what i mean
Good luck and keep the pics coming. You are gona do this great.

Thanks guys. kimo your right about material, i was going to remove some more, but when i put it in my hand it felt so confortable, not too bulky etc, i will round it off a bit more though, and i still have to drill hole for lanyard, didnt think off this at the start, i suppose i was too keen, but you learn. Any ideas in what to coat this baby with for polishing etc.

reHi Mayfly.
Buffalohorn is being very nice surface on when you have polished it good. It dont need any coating. Just polish and polish again and it will be very beautiful.

We used to strop with a cloth and ( car care ) T-Cut
Comes up great, on the buffalo sticks we used to do.
Try it, it won't do any harm.
