It's an interesting subject, in Zante, I watched a few Greek gentlemen fishing in the harbour, the set up was, a reel of line some 6" in diameter, after throwing the baited hook out, the reel was placed below the men's feet a foot below on the wall....they then attached the line to a nail which was sticking out of a 4"x4" wooden block at his feet, when the fish bit, the block flew off the wall.
So simple, no rod or fishing reel needed. |
