fishermans taleWent fishing today on the Derwent reservoir, a nice little puddle worth a google . Got there got set up with all the recent rain it is no surprise the water level is really high. The first place i waded in i was stood there up to the top of my backside with a small tree to my left and my mate Andy 15' the other side still setting up on the bankside. Happily sending the fly out waiting, playing the line tugging and twitching, Suddenly Andy shouts out loud Arrrrrrgghh, as my feet were in the mud i leant back over to see behind the tree, my waders formed a cup shape at the back and scooped up half the piggin reservoir straight down my arse and legs I was soaked The idiot only pricked his finger with a hook.
I proceeded to loose my first catch just before i netted it as i let the rod drop. . My second pulled the knot loose from my braid so is swimming around with a Dawson's Olive and 8' of line trailing behind it . These were my only two hits in an 8 hour shift it rained pretty much all day i was soaked to the skin and a little peeved with myself.
But that's fishing
I am still a begginer by the way

ha ha I'm the same way, I really love to fly fish but it seems like every time I go fly fishing its a series of massive catastrophes, with intermittent spurts of fishing.
I consider fly fishing, recreational knot untying, and should a fish die in the process, well that's just icing on the cake!

It's not the sahara! Actually my town has the longest river in the state running through it, but this time of year it runs pretty low, and when you get into the mountains there is lots of oportunities for creek fishing (which is my favorite.)
