Flat bandsWell for the second time in a month my bands on my fish hunter have snapped  The second time is easily fixed just means I need to shorten them a bit. But what my question is... is there a certain way that you shoud store etc. Your catty to keep the bands from wearing quickly? I found that before It snapped they were cold and brittle feeling ??? Any advice appreciated.

Bands dont last very long it is a payoff for the power,i could easily use two pairs of therabands in a busy day praticing,if you have not broke any yet you are just not praticing enough!!!!Natural .50 latex bands will last a bit longer,but not loads more.Get your money out and buy a few pairs in reserve.

I've had mine get 'trimmed' where I attach it meaning I have to shorten em slightly.
I gotta say. The power difference even with losing 3/4 of an inch is increible.
I think depending on how its folded over may have an effect? One band certainly slips a bit more than others.

keep them out of the cold, and keep them out of direct sunlight ...for instance putting one on the dash of your car will ruin it verry quickly
i find that a single band of theraband gold will last a couple hundred shots, on average before breaking ..so fish's doubles should give you even more than that because the double bands have less stress on them. of course that all varies depending on draw length and things like that..but its definantly true that flatbands do not last nearly as long as tubes. well worth it though

i usually manage loadsa shots be fore mine break ie 500+ ,it must be said that they must be treated with care not to damage them. having said that i do allways carry a spare set .

i had the same probs, iv gone back to my divers, it last a lot longer and is very powerfull

I use theraband and have never had any real trouble I bought a few barnet bands before and they never lasted as well as the theraband.
If yours are breaking at the fork end it may have something to do with the way you are fitting them, a bit of insulation tape before the string, zip ties Etc. can help prevent the bands getting cut.

Band life depends on the size ammo your using
if you use 3/8 steel bb in a catty with bands the size fish puts on his cattys
then you will kill the bands very quickly
if you were to use the bands fish puts on the girlypult with the same bb`s
then you would get more shots with out loosing too many fps
you need to balance the ammo to the power of the bands
