Hello all, I was out on my usual walk this morning, only on another quite
farm lane, half down this lane, there is small wood going of to the left, so I thought I will have a look through to see if any rabbits are working, my Pup is running free, mooching around, he is eating the rabbits droppings,
but I am looking further down the wood, with the small breeze blowing into my face, I suddenly, see the smallest fox cub I ever did see, his body could only have been, about 6" long and height was about the same
his tail was the largest part of him, I am trying to stop my Pup from coming up to me so the little cub can pass with out harm, but in the end I had to give a hard short whistle, I stopped the pup in his tracks just for that second or two, I grabbed my pup, and the little fellow just slinked away, I held onto the pup for about a couple of minutes so the cub could find his safe way but my pup is going mad with the strong scent, I put him on the lead as he was very excited, todate the pup has had No live quarry, but I was pleased the little cub got away for another day, and we continued, on with our site investigation planning for another day, I enjoyed our little walk, dogs education is coming on jumping small fences

I was just marking a new area for rabbits, for the best run for the pup for later on, I also come across a couple of Mixie rabbits they were in some whin bushes, to thick for the pup to have a go at them, Not a good sign, as you know with the hot weather coming in the flys will spread it like wildfire, for there seems to be a good number of rabbits about, but sadly
the blacktip rabbit up here is almost extinct, (((( for those brave fellows that shoot black tip rabbit, up here they have cleaned them out, some thing to be proud of the shower of Bas---ds,
fish
give em time and the black tip rabbit will be back!
