I have shot them at night with a .22 airgun and lamp for food, speared them, and seen a guy in vietnam who could whip them out of a rice-paddy with a flexible bamboo, nylon monofilament line and a treble hook.
My wife used to buy them in Wanchai market, the butcher puts them in a mesh bag, whacks them with the flat of a of his cleaver to stun them, then skins the legs in theblink of an eye, nice in a stir fry with rice

fish,
an 80lb bow for bullfrogs is over-kill and i would think that guy breaks a lot of arrows?

tw,
i've taken them with air rifle too. it's a lot of fun taking them during the day with catapult or bow too.
i use a technique that is probably very similar to the one your pal in vietnam used. i make ua a special hook with 6-points and barbs, dangle it from a bamboo pole and it looks like a spider. when froggy strike, set the hook, if froggy isn't hungry set the hook anyway. it's loads of fun on a hot summer day.
my favorite way to cook them is to roll the legs in a mixture of milk and egg, then roll in seasoned flour and deep fry until a deep gold brown. a meal fit for a king!
what's the most bullfrogs you've ever taken in one haul?

We have only ever taken enough for a fry-up mate,30+,but i am sure we could have taken a couple of hundred if we had wanted,rice-paddies are full of them at night, snakes too
I once went fishing for carp but gave up as I was catching a turtle every single cast,I took the hook off, tied some meat on the line and caught over 40 in about an hour-and-a-half.
