i also do a bit of rescue and rehoming , i chap i met via me rehoming took a dog on i had in who had dominance problems and i felt he would be best placed in a home that would work and stimulate him , this has been a success, both very happy , he already had a retriever x whippet he was attempting to work, 3 novices together are doing very well , he was offered help which sadly never came up so basically he has been teaching himself to lamp and for a while he has promised to come lamping and see how someone more experienced does it , last night was that night
we had a good bag thanks to Sas and Tyler , pics to follow
his dogs are not the best on recall so we ran each with one of mine and i showed him to turn lamp off when you want them back and put the beam to your feet , his whippet picked it up in 2 runs so he was over the moon !!! the retriever cross shocked me at the speed and how clever she is, certainly in a yrs time she will be a very handy member to any team, he was showed a few things he was doing wrong , and picked it up quick , i made sure i explained why it worked doing it that way etc , very important when you are the tutor i feel
we only went for an hour and a half and took 6 bunnies and retrieved 2 black tip rabbit even picked up a few bits off the roadside for ferret food!!! lol
here are the end of night shots , the catchers were sas and tyler , but we ran the other 2 for experience , oh no sorry i tell a lie , kizzy the retriever cross , nailed a bunny by a hedge!!!
here are the dogs

Aye ,well done, it's good to see a dog "come good" i've usually been lucky and any rescue/unwanted me-me's that found there way into my life have worked to fashion ,as long as a dog helps me to fill the pot and fills my life ,i'm happy with it .

I have a real soft spot for whippet /whippet types, but i'm also fond of the "kizzy" type, they suit my needs often by not looking like much, other than a lean xbreed , Joe Public not giving them a second look when i'm out for a "walk", my last wee bitch looked nothing but she earned her keep, my next one ? who knows, but i could happily give any these 4 a "walk"
