a talented craftes man you are! how do the texas toothpicks hold up?
wildman

Mayfly, Yes; when I was bladesmithing full time Bowies were my specialty. I'm retired now but stil make a few each year if the weather is too foul for hunting. most of my bowies are 9 1/2" blade or longer. Let me know exactly what you're lookin for in a bowie and I'll keep ya in mind if I start a project. My last bowie went to the far north of Scotland. Here's a pic of one of my bowies

Fish, are you speaking of the bowie style toothpicks or the double edged type in the form of a large dagger? Both styles are known as toothpicks over here according to what part of the country you're in.  The bowie style blade with traditional clip blade holds up real well if forged from good steel and properly heat treated. I like to carry a good strong belt knife or tomahawk on me when doing night work, cause I've had some close encounters of the worst kind over the years.

Thank's .

I thought i show it because of the earlier discuss of bowieknife. My next project is a bigger knife. We call it huggare here in sweden. It's a chopper in the forrest. Blade about 19cm sandviksteele and 4mm thick.
I put some pictures when it's done. Maybe some of you want it then

Have a nice summertime all of you.
