How to make this knifeHere i have cut all the pieces with a saw and sanded them to fit together perfect. Drilled the pieces. The first piece (bolster) is the moust important to fit perfect without any gaps to the blade.
Next step is to glue them together. I mostly glue them piece by piece. Use two component epoxy or araldit glue.
After the glue dried for about 12 houers i start to use different files on the handle for shaping.
Now it started to look like a knife but there is much more to do
Time to do all the sandings and to use chainsaw files.
And this is the result of it. Sorry for my english but i hope you understand.

reHi.
Mostly i dont clamp the pieces together. Take them piece by piece. I feel that i have more control this way but it takes little more time.

i must admit ive been making more of this style of late. that flame birch is almost edible look, bit like the sheen you get from sugar thats being streached and rolled to make swets.

reThe flame birch is first colorised in vacum before it's stabilized. That's how the colour come up this way.
