I did the same on a new black widow, was as if the pouch was made from reformed leather so your not the only one. I got a brown hunter of fish, you wont regret it. Took a bit of gettin used to holding it with big hands, kept flying out my hand at first after a shot. I use it off the boat quite a bit so had to get the hang of it quick!
