it must be quite a thrill stalking with a bow and making a kill, as it just you against it. no cosy rifle at ioo yards or waiting in a hide for it to come to you. saw some one bow hunting pheasants on youtube fantastic shooting. is it legal to hunt deer and other mammals in the u k with a bow?

The term is totally illegal. As the law stands at present Bows are ment for target use only in the UK. Out in america they are still regularly used, Went into Hunting supermarket last time I was out there (3hrs to walk around) they have everthing there, but most of it is illegal to bring back into UK.

to be honest fpo most things are legal to bring back but not to use,the main thingthat is banned is mechanically operated knives ie switch blades and the like.with the correct paperwork you can even import guns.but as for bowhunting kit itd be all ok,the broadheads dont even raise an eyebrow i regularly buy them from uncle sams ,the posetion of broasheads is legal in the uk its the using them for hunting thats illegal.
on the scale of things ,if you got caught hunting a conie with one ,probably get a fine,if you werent clever enough to blag yer way out of it.the crown has allways been a bit funny about deer though!

only going by what the shop assistant told us. Came back with a load of fishing rapala lures as a friend of ours had a fishing shop at the time, we paid less then his wholesale price! have you been onto cabelas web site? My sister sends it over forus most years hours and hours of drueling! Their warm camo gear is amazing.
When I was at school still went on adventure weeks, great fun using the bows - most of the others were too wossy and could barely pull the string, (all girls school!) good thing that I was always away over fields helping friend out with her sheep goats horses etc. sheep racing and put a few muscles on!
