JS Bug Bashing Gower Sling Shot FestOk ok ... It's small and furry isnt it... I know you can't shoot it but (I tried, missed but I'm learning sling shot at the mo!)
Anyways me and the OH found this on his " Mato's" (that's tomatoes to normal English like me he's Welsh so ya know they say it diffrent ).
Posted this on a little place I frequent to ask help on ID of it and got this answer, "The closest I can find is a Glanville Fritillary"
I'm tending to agree any other ideas what this critter could be? (I'm aware it's a Caterpillar so no takin the peeeeious )
Anyway I can honistly say when fronted with this critter I sorta took a step back not in fear but caution after a recent event me and the OH had experianced locally, here's the post I did onanuvasite and all about it and the outcome of a Innocent looking Caterpillar
"Geeze the otherday what a nightmare!!!
My self & Richie decided to go to Oxwich Bay for a spot of fishing, we had been told of a local walk to the beach through a nature reserve across marshland and through a forest about a 30 min walk tops...
Lovely walk in fact not a problem. We left the beach at about 7:30 in the evening and it was very humid and took the same walk back not that steep or challangeing for us at all tbh.
And OMG!!! disaster I could'nt breathe properly within 5 mins of the walk back! It lasted a good few hours was'nt right until about 11:30 that evening not being able to get a lung full of fresh air at all. Rich suffers from COPD and asthema he was able to breathe but had stabbing pains in his lower lungs for awhile
Rich ended up makeing me take one of his inhalers to open my lungs up it was that bad within 5 mins I could sort of get a good breath in else I think it would have been a trip to the hospital and I don't dooooo hospitals (when it's me involved!).
We had'nt eat, drank or done anything diffrent to normal other than walk through this forest and marshland... we are putting it down to a possible weird pollen allergy attack? there was allot of strange in seeding grasses and allot of cedar in the woods so I guess it's a big possiblity? I've never had a allergy in my life!.
WE won't be doing the walk again me thinks lol!
Found this useful site on pollen counts and weather realated things while we where reaserching the strange event of the fishing trip if it's any use to anyone

Our pollen count for that day was 6 I think it was actually more in the area we happened to be walking in."
It turned out that we had been in possible contact with The brown tail moth caterpillar.
Heres the link all about it, also as above useful info from the facebook Caterpillar site.

As I found out Cute Furry things no matter how inoffensive can cause a great deal of crap. I say we organise a Official JS Bug Bashing Gower Sling Shot Fest PMSL!
