Lure Recommendations?

I'm off for a week in Cornwall on Sunday so some sea fishing is in order.

However, rather than waiting forever for bass to take a ragworm or whatever, I fancied a bit of lure fishing. I've used strings of feathers and simple spinners a bit before, but that's it. Is there anything else in the way of kit or tactics you'd recommend?

I have a 12' beach caster rod so is the action (4-6oz I think) of that too heavy for spinning?

hi you can use that rod if you wish its down to each of us at the end of the day but if its a heavy rod it might make your arm ache after a while as the spinning rods are a lot lighter

as for the lures there are so many that a bass will take try some of the jelly types the ones that make the most disturbance in the water will work the best
thats all i no really on the lure side of things as dont really use them that often so not sure on the right names for them
