I was just glancing through the other hunting Forum, there was some good photos put up by some guys called Hunters world, and there dogs they had a successful, bag including a good Blacktip Rabbit, what had genuinely, been caught, with there good dog, so I called for the fraudsters
who paraded, 4 black tip rabbit with his dog, ((( they were the cleanest black tip rabbit ever not a saliva mark or any small damage what so ever, and he stated this great dog of his had done the job,))) so I have requested them to take a look at these present photos, and all the other baked Idiots who gave me abuse for stating about those four black tip rabbit, I have never ever come across
any dog to this day with a SPONGE MOUTH, especially when a dog has caught 4 in the one session, thank you all,

if a dog has cought a blacktip rabbit it will have some marks on it as the blacktip rabbit will struggle so no matter how soft a mouth is fur will always come off

and that is what I said to them as well, you catch a good blacktip, of course he is putting up struggle, and also on the third and forth one the dog makes sure he has a good hold, on what he has caught, and that is why there is a load of crap breeding, to boot,

in days gone by we did not take any photos, of our trophys, the dog was there up for a race at any time, and in days gone by if a man thought he had a good dog take him on to the land you just mentioned, run him single handed, the best of three, I can not remember, coming home second best, that is were all my dogs done there jobs for over forty years, sadly all the old fellows, who I coursed with is finished with dogs or life has give them up, but there is a couple still around a travelling family who live in Gretna now, I coursed with his father and the man himself, also there is another old man that got a pup from my breeding up in wigtown, Kinnear, the place is called, go into the village and ask for jimmy loughrie

This isnt days gone by though, this is now and people do take photos, ever since cameras were invented people have charted their hunting/shooting/fishing activities.

The basic facts are you have slagged off a man and dog without knowing a thing about how the dog is bred, what its capable of, or the man himself. Plenty of people put you straight on the dogs capabilities on that thread, and several have witnessed man and dog take decent numbers on fen ground, but you call them "idiots" because they dont share your view?.

The place your talking about is Kirkinner not Kinnear, Ive ran black tip rabbit pre ban around that area too, I know who Jimmy Lochrie is so no need to keep dropping names into every post you write. Hes much the same as Mick Yuill who you mentioned in another post, another old man who deals dogs, always got one for sale but never seems to actually get out with the dogs.

Never used to argue on this site. In fact everyone used to get along just fine, would always help one another with the odd problem and be respectful of alternative opinion.

People want to join us because of this happy atmosphere.

Would be good to keep it friendly.....after all, we share a common ground dont we.

BL, I dont think you have brought the site into dispute.

Its fish's site, I just happen to like it here. I wasn't trying to single out anyone as being responsible for causing unrest. It just strikes me that dispute and disagreement quickly becomes personal and before long you find that one particular section of the forum becomes a battlefield for fueding dog owners.

It doesn't happen in any other section. I appreciate how emotive a subject dog ownership is but do we all want to end up disagreeing constantly.

Different people want different things from their sport and indeed their lives. It matters not to me that my neighbour chooses to run a poodle cross and contents himself with one rabbit a year. If that is his choice then so be it, if he then choose to share a story of his one rabbit hunting trip with me then I'll congratulate him and go about my business happy to be doing as I will. There is no point attacking the poor fellow over his lack of sucess as in his eyes he is doing just fine.

If someone chooses to post pictures and I think they are pulling a fast one, I'll say nothing, because I know experienced men out there will know too. I was just asking for some discretion before posts are made guys, maybe a little thought as to whether it will add to the section or invite a reaction. Debate is good, good debate is healthy but there is a fine line to tread.

Maybe some tolerance toward each other. As an example, take HB and myself. He chooses to run black tip rabbit on the lamp, I would only run them daytime. Its only our own particular choices that we are free to make, I wont fall out with him over it.
