my first board cut catty, spruced up.

here is a picture of one of my first board cut slingshots..i decided since i just had a boring old piece of oak laying around that i would spruce it up by adding a brass spacer and an orange chunk of soap stone. to spruce it up a bit. I also wrapped the limbs of the forks with some artificial sinew, just to add some texture to the bare limbs.
i went with a really wide fork on this one just to try something new and Im glad i did  i really like shooting the wide fork it lets me see my target a little better than my more traditional shapes, plus it keeps the whole catty nice and small without having that small milbro type feel.  you can see the size comparison in the picture with my hand in it.   i also really like the weight that the soapstone added  to the catty, it gives it a really good balanced feel in the hand.   Im really happy with this one, i think board cuts are going to be a strong addition to my arsenal from now on.   so what do yah think ??

Looks a nice bit of kit, i like the idea of the wider forks ? but i'm no expert .

Superb look - how did you anchor the soap stone?

That pouch looks quite thick though - any idea how much it weighs?

thanks everybody for the positive remarks. as for how I attached it.
I first made the catty with a full size handle then I cut and sanded the handle down into a small dowel.  then epoxy, brass, epoxy, and soap stone and clamped the whole thing together let it dry then shaped.  i hope it remains strong enough.

and yes to answer your question fish i did get my catty and I have to say the finish on it is flawless thank you..  I also ordered a knife from kimmolilja and when i get it Im gonna do  little write up on my entirely jacks shed made kit

no adam i dont know what the weight of it is i just buy scraps from a horse saddle shop thats in my town.  I do like a stiff piece of leather though for my pouches and very little knapp..i think it helps the release.   it is much stiffer than the store bought pouches (to use as a reference)
