Neck knife

I got a neat little damscus neck blade without a handle so had to make one myself.

Tried a bit of plum wood I had laying around but was nott too keen on it so had a look around my shed.

I found this piece of driftwood that we collected from bude in cornwall about 8 years ago.

It looked interesting so I cut it down the middle.

I liked what I saw and said to myself I knew this would come in handy one day.
Made some liners from an old copper kettle and searched for that bronze rod I knew I had somwhere eventually I found it.

See the plum it does look a bit plain.

put the wood roughly cut on the blade.

Nearly finished just got to wait for the bee's wax to dry a few times to get a good polish on it.

A pic to give you an idea of size

Well I think it turned out quite well and looks very nice for a bit of old driftwood I do not know what timber it is, even though I know most.

Now just to make a sheath what do you think of it?
tyke

No idea what the wood is either mate but it looks really good.Nice job.

Thanks

That piece of wood could be from anthing years old and floating about the Atlantic for years
Just think of all those nice bits of wood we have burned whilst night fishing on the beach, I will be looking for more now the only reason I kept this piece was that I liked the shape.

Glad I did though.
