Thank you for sharing this one, it's if I was there myself.
What kind of bait did you use? and are these old splitcane carp / pike rods available in the UK (secondhand offcoarse ) because I have a nice old bakelite Allcock Aerialite centrepin reel which is longing for a matching vintage rod.

longtail i dont know if this any use to you i was given it about 20 years ago, 3 parts are hexongal cane and the top bit looks like fibreglass, you are welcome to it, i think you are only down the road from me pm me your address and il drop it round when im around your way next cheers.

nice looking rod there, sadly fishing is one of the only country sports i just havnt ever realy enjoyed. my old man tryed really hard to teach me when i was a lad, but just didnt have the interest.
