Quick walk

Heres a pic from the beginning of the season. I took my lurcher for a quick walk before i had to leave home for a job interview. We started walking down  the side of a small wood, the lurcher was hunting in front of me searching for any scent. Suddenly he flew into some cover and a vixen bolted out across the small ride. Luckily she managed to get into some thick brambles before he had a chance to get hold, i dont really use him for foxes as they dont interest me.
I clipped him on the lead until we got a good distance away as i didn't want him dissapearing after charlie and me to miss my interview. As soon as he was off the lead his nose was straight back to the ground and he was working his way along a ditch. I was stood watching him hunt up when he dived into a large patch of gorse, as he did 2 roe broke cover and headed for the next wood. Ty was hot on the heels of one doe and pulled her just before a hedge, i ran over and made sure everything was humane.
Time was getting on now so we jogged back to the car along side a small patch of long grass and brambles. I heard a bit of commotion and turnt around to see ty emerge from the cover with a cock pheasant. I expect the poor fella was pricked on one of the shoot days.
It was meant to be a quick walk but i was more than happy with the way it turnt out.

The white thing next to the deer is the pheasant a very light bird.

Obviously that was just a story i made up. In reality i found the deer on the side of the road and the pheasant was actually a pet chicken i trained to play dead.
