we have to lamp all our foxs where i go, we would love to set snares but there are to many footpaths to contend with and loads of dog walkers out and about,it piss me off as some foxs you only have to put the lamp on them and they are gone and i think a snare is the only way to take them.

I have loads of bog-standard snares steve, but have you ever heard of a breakaway-snare?It opens under pressure from non-target species,I have a few in the loft somewhere, they are designed to open under pressure from any catch larger than a red fox?Maybe its a thought?

Most of the time mate its the blind leading the blind,I will stick a pic up at the weekend of a breakaway,I have found a few opened so know something a little larger than a fox had sprung them, they do work :D

Breakaway Fox snare on the left side, standard snare on the right Steve, they both cost the same to make, roughly 40p,both work 24/7 but if I were snaring near the dog-walking general public the breakaway would give me peace of mind that I wasnt going to throttle Fido
