so whats peoples top tips to start there dog on the lampbeen out for our first ever night with the lamp and was my dogs first time seeing a lamp. and she did ok. by end of night she started to click on that light means fun. few times disapeared of into the back ground to hunt up but couple of whistles came straight back.
she did well. this is my first dog training. She nearly had 2 but they had her on the turn. Was great fun and looking to get out more, its very hard though not to let her slip just that one more time didnt want to nacker her out, she is only a year old.

Well done!First of all well done for havin' a go
I agree with what the lads above have advised about letting the pup learn from a good steady lamping dog.
But no matter how tempted you are to slip your dog to join in, I would recommend that you just let the pup watch the experienced dog bringing the catch back to hand.
Remember, they are by nature a pack animal and will soon pick the game up.
It sounds like you've been patient with the pup and I have no-doubt that will pay you dividends on an ink-black night with the lamp
All the best and please let us know how you're getting on?
