this is the river mourne at sion mills the stretch is called the cricket pitch after a ten year absence we hit it luckey this year mayfly got his first ever salmon and i broke my duck from talking about closing the river in july the counter on the weir was recording 130 salmon an hour running up stream this is what makes it one of the best rivers in europe

As you can see from the pic, this stretch off river is wadable, when the water level is right. If You look right to the top off pic, their are 1 or 2 anglers on the fly, from their, right down to the stones on the right hand side can be waded, but very slippery and without a stick you could be taking an early bath.

oyea i remember when i was in one of my lectures about northern ireland having all the fish counters posted on the internet and how surely thats just telling poachers where to go
but cough cough no poachers on this fourm especially the game fourm cough

i remember once in a pub of a relatives in somerset,there was a load of irish navvies working on laying cable tv,they would meet up in the pub3 of them on instuments the rest were the greatest conversationalists,they all had a tale to tell or a trick to show.i recon they never had to buy a drink in the time they were there!
