Yeah, Joerg I saw that on some Chinese natural forks, but I wanted to try to shoot twin tube over the top and I liked it so much I made another. I'm working on getting me some good flat bands finally also for my own slingshots and my sons'. He and I first discuss patterns of forks we design and after we do changes until we like them we go shoot them. Most of the time changes away from "normal" end up in the trash, but sometimes we keep an idea. I like the twin tube over the top, but most of the guys at work don't like it, because they feel it is too complicated to attach rubber. Oh well...rejection is part of design... Here's my newest design..."CLASSIC".

Smitty, nice setup. Regarding the pins, it looks like you could use the method Geko uses in this vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1P0aC58bLds to attach those bands and eliminate them (pins). I don't see why you couldn't still use them OTT by putting the loop under the bands rather than over.
The tube attachment doesn't really even need the bands through the hole with the pins, because the tubes are tied into grooves with rubber-bands like flat-bands, but I just liked the extra security of putting the bands through the hole because it does take a lot of force to pull the bands to full draw. It shoots very well and I have it in my case of shooters I like. That way it doesn't get taken apart to try something else.
This one just has regular flat top forks and it shoots the twin bands very well also. It turns out you don't need top of forks shaped to hold rubber at all. _________________ practice makes you tired, not perfect...trust me!
