i am just about to get 8 acres or thereabouts but it has a road around the edge of it. any idea if its likely i can qualify for a fac on the basis i want to shoot on my own land(in wales) and would it make a diffrerence if it was rimfire or shotgun- iwould like to have both - cos im greedy!
Cant see a shotgun cert being an issue,a mate has a similar sized peice of land and applied for the FAC as there is houses on one border it was refused.
The ironic thing is he was granted an FAC airgun licence and bought an 80ft lbs .223 airgun,much more oomph than the .22 rimfire?
and for christs sake dont introduce the crays! bdooly nuicanse ! they will eat all the fish eggs in the river ,so whilst you appear to be getting bigger fish its only because theres no small ones,then when the biggins die you have a sterile river,and the bloodlines that have been there since before the last ice age are gone. theres bound to be a place nearby where you can catch them. _________________
i hear what your saying about crays..... thems just sooooo tasty though.
its not currently a living river, its a small 4 inch deep stream about 4 feet wide, but good flow. Becomes a tributary to a river futher down but not on my land. trees need thinning aroundd it and im thinking of getting a digger in making pools and shoring up the banks to increase the potential of getting living stuff in it. could perhaps get cages inside and stick some fish in, but wouled prefer edibles!

and that is absolutly no excuse to introduce crays, just cos it wont be your problem, they spread well enough on their own and if you make a couple of pools you may well find they make their own way there.
I have a ink to a cray map somewhere so if you want to pm me the rough area when I find the link I will look and see if they are marked in the area, or I will post the link in an appropriate section when found.
