Hi Shed Dwellers,

I've had a few rabbits in the last month with the catty - we always eat what I shoot and rabbit is delicious, but I can't stand that horrible smell that gets on your hands when you skin and then butcher the rabbit. Is there anyone out there with an old ( or new ) fashioned tip to get rid of smelly rabbit hands ?

Cheers   Strider

the thing that works for me is tomato sauce, wash your hands with soap first and then squirt a load of tommy sauce onto your hands, rub well in, and rinse, that genally works for me..
I got the idea from people who have been sprayed by skunks in the usa, they used to bath in tomato juice to get rid of the smell, so i tried it on my hands and it works for me!!

Thanks for the replies,

I wouldn't have thought of those in a million years ( I had to Google stainless steel soap just to find out what it was ! )

I'll give em both a try and let you know how I get on.

Disposable latex gloves I always use them in the field as I smoke and don't like all the blood and guts on my hands whilst puffing on a rollup.

If you look just at the back of a male rabbit just by the tail you will see the scent gland it is a good idea to remove this as well it cuts the smell right down.
