As quite correctly ID'd earlier it is Swedish and made as a pike trap for setting under the ice. Prices vary tremendously (as they do with all traps) depending upon condition, rarity and how much two collectors wish to pay!!
Proof of their efficacy is they were manufactured in large numbers and by several different manufacturers,they were the gin traps of the piscatorial world
I have seen the one your on about mate but I havent got it,I have hundreds of books gathering dust in packing cases in my sisters garage,I used to be addicted to print,T'internet has cured me of that addiction
