Anyone into mushrooms very profitable nowdays and a good excuse if your caught out doing anything you shouldnt be doing.
Blewies 4 pound a pound
oysters 8 pound a pound
boletus 15 pound a pound
Folks are getting more at some restraunts but you cant knock it its nothing to pick twenty pound of field blewies there still out now.
Thats eighty quid for a walk round.

wow ! thats good money! when iwas a kid i used to sell giant puffballs to a resaurant,only made a quid each then! as yer obviously well informed on this subject do you think you could do a short piece on collecting? ie cutting not pulling etc?

That looks like amanita muscaria on your post fish,but I am sure your more interested in psilocybe

Our local county offer foraging/fungi.mushroon outings sometimes

i used to love mushrooming but i always ended up throwing away more than i was eating because i was never 100% sure what they where, pictures in books never seemed to match properly

I did it for a bit last year but I only got £10 a kilo for chanterelles. Where you sell yours? Restaurants? On a sidenote, have you ever had any that actually smell of apricots?

Also my biggest mushroom was a cep about a foot wide, shame it had maggots so I didn't sell it. Sidenote: Kebabing of mushrooms over a fire on sticks does not work. Trust me, it's awful. :)

You got any tips on morels Juckler? I never bothered going after them as I only used to go out in autumn time when you could make alot of money, but spring will be here soon and you seem like you know a bit.

Right lads i will get it together and post what i find when i find them with tips pics etc that should help loads.
As theres something to pick all year round more or less.
Blewits are still out and flushing [growing] both wood and field but probably for only another fortnight.
Best prices are at restraunts i did a bit of legwork and was suprised how many would buy fresh wild shrooms they seem to be in vogue at the moment.
Morels like you say mate are springtime fare we dont get a lot where i am in the midlands but the best spots ive found have always been on old railway lines near to town.
And the chantrelles ive found smell more of pinewoods than apricots but they do have a distinct aroma.
