There's a couple of pools out at a our local farm (4 miles away).

One is a specimin pool, its quite big and fished by people with more kit and electronics on the bank than we have in our house! (in fact some of them bivi's are bigger than our house)

The other pool is small with steep, wooded banks...which is hardly ever fished because people cant get their "Mobile fishing homes" and electronics anywhere near it.

I went there at first light this morning, armed only with a cheap Aldi 5 ft rod n reel and 2 loaves of bread. despite having to lie on a fallen willow branch to get to where the fish where, I had a crackin day on small carp. And on small tackle the scrap they give is a real test ( as you balance on the tree!)

Anyway, heres some pics...it was like being a kid again!

I tried a taste of Carp when I lived in Germany for a while. The "erics" eat it on xmas day I think?

I went and had a chat with some of the "Carp-camping club" today. The one bloke told me he had £2.5 k worth of kit, had been out for 2 nights and not had a fish!!!!

Now thats dedication.... I would have resorted to hand grenades by now.

I'll stick to the over-hanging branch method. The fish may be small...but at least I'm catching
