Hello , folks ,

Just dropped in here two days ago , the site was mentioned somewhere in a slingshot video at "youtube" , if my memory serves me right .

My name is Dieter(pronounce like "Peter", only with a "D" instead of the "P") and I live in a smaller town located 20 miles east from the inner city of Hamburg/Germany .

I am 47 years of age , married and have one daughter , .....I am working in the metal industry .

My hobby is fishing for all local freshwater species , but with focus on lurefishing , once the annual closing time for predatory fish is through .

I also do build my own lures(and some other tackle) ,......I got started with it well about 15 years ago and I still enjoy it quite a bit .

As a boy I had also done some shooting with slingshots , and I've found myself still to be interested in it ,... actually the reason why I've stumpled in , as I've already mentioned above .

But I haven't done a single shot since at least maybe 20 years(apart from using special slingshots for chumming fish) , I guess !

So probably I might build myself a new slingshot some day , as I don't have any of the old ones anymore(apart from one , that obviously has turned to be illegal over here since the time I had built it )  , and I am hoping that maybe I could possibly find some info and assistance in here .

But as said before , I am quite experienced in making fishing lures and tackle of different types , so I am sure , that I would be able to contribute some info in here as well , if requested .

@ fish

Thanks a lot !

No , I am not on Charlie's forum , don't even know , that it is existing , only visited his website before .

But his book "The Art Of Lurefishing" has been a kinda bible for luremaking to me , I own my issue for about ten years now , mailordered it from England those days , no German translation available .

Actually this is the first British forum , that I have joined , I am also active on an Aussie and an US forum(lures , lurebuilding) , and a couple of German ones ,..... also fishing related , off course .

When I'd get closer into this forum , I'd put up some pics of my lures in the relevant subforums , no problem .

Concerning the "duck" video , that you've mentioned , ......is it about whittling a wooden duck with its feet in shape of paddle wheels ?
If so , this is a Dutch video , I've seen it on another forum .

I only put up two vid's so far on "youtube" , both are about metal spoons ,...... don't have the links handy now , ........maybe you could check for video's by "61diemai" ?

Thanks for your welcome , guys !

@ froggyfagan

Actually during my youth I had spent many summer , -and Easter holidays in Oxfordshire , in a village right at foot of the Chilterns , had an uncle and auntie living there ,..... so it was my priorty at school to pick up the English language right as from 10 years of age .

@ morlan578

Unfortunately by now I've found this lure model to rise up very quick on retrieve , so I could only fish it upward drop-offs , I suppose ?

Guess , that I'm gonna try to make the front section of thicker sheet or also try rigging a weighted leader ,..... if that one won't constantly foul with the the lure whilst casting ?????
