you only fish for sea trout at night (aswell as dawn and dusk)
however rainbows will take a bait day or night

Night is the best time I think for poached trout

Had them on bread and worm but by far the best bait is a big bunch of maggot on a 8 or 6 hook.

Nightime for some killer sea trout action. Daytime can be equally as good as much more ground can be covered(most of our fishing is in the salt)

Flyfishing with a bushy sedgehog or muddler can be pretty effective in the dark. The fish are excellent at picking up the vibrations.
